On 1 November 2019, US Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, Matt Matthews, visited Kuala Belalong Field Studies Centre (KBFSC) to get a first-hand impression of the field centre and its research and education programme. He was accompanied by US Public Affairs Officer Daniel Lee, Professor Rolf Müller from Virginia Tech, and Professor Ulmar Grafe from UBD.
Prof Müller and Prof Grafe are currently collaborating on research in bioinspired technology: how can nature inspire technological and engineering solutions. Located in the pristine Mixed Dipterocarp forest, KBFSC provides an ideal platform for researchers to gain such inspiration.
